Blackpond
Blackpond is located on an existing 72.89 acre farm, at 9423 Blackpond Lane in Fauquier County, Virginia, located within the Middle‐Catoctin watershed, Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) 02070008. Nutrient and sediment reductions will be produced by restoring stability and natural function to the stream channel in an unnamed tributary to Goose Creek that is actively eroding, thus reducing nutrient and sediment loadings in local tributaries as well as downstream resources and improving instream habitat and water quality of the Potomac‐Shenandoah Basin. These nutrient reductions will generate nutrient credits (“Credits”) that will be available to meet post-construction runoff reduction requirements under Virginia’s Stormwater General Permit Program.
